Anima did a wonderful performance at our surprise wedding day. He guided me out with a wonderful personal rendition of here comes the bride. He then entertained our guests who were totally surprised by the wedding with Caribbean music and some personal choices while we ate and socialized. It was a wonderful day with amazing talent of the music! Highly recommend!!

I went to Anima for Flamenco lessons with minimal guitar background, not quite knowing what to expect. What I got was a passionate, authentic, dedicated, knowledgeable, versatile, and technically phenomenal guitar teacher teaching me everything from history, theory, Spanish terminology, and of course, guitar-playing skills relating to Flamenco.
Anima's passion for music is definitely contagious. We went through traditional music and used Flamenco techniques for Spanish bullfighting themes, to Paco de Lucia songs, to Gypsy Kings, to Latin themes (salsa/bachata), and even to modern pop/rock music (he's a big fan of metal and has shared many stories of his metal band days). Anima is not only a great repository of knowledge, he also invents his own unique guitar techniques you'll likely not see or hear anywhere else. I never realized the different sounds a guitar is capable of making, particular on the percussive front, and I'm sure we only scratched the surface.
If I hadn't moved away I would definitely have continued lessons with Anima. Swell guy too. Highly recommended for anyone interested in any type of guitar/bass genres, especially Flamenco and metal/rock, at any level.
